02Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Strasse 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. Server log files may include IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, user agent and technical status data.
These logs are processed for secure delivery, troubleshooting and attack prevention. IP addresses are generally stored for up to seven days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
03Cookies and local storage
Cool Stuff has no user accounts, no shop, no forms and no newsletter. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. The content management system may set a technical session cookie that is needed to deliver the page securely.
Fonts are served from our own server. We do not embed videos, maps or social media widgets.
04Analytics and click measurement
We use Umami Cloud to understand which picks are useful. It counts page views and events such as clicks on product buttons, use of the category filter and search terms you type into the shelf search (from two characters), as well as the address of external links you click. Umami is built to work without cookies and without building personal profiles.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in improving the selection and the page. You can object at any time, see your rights below.
05Affiliate links and partner stores
Product buttons lead to partner stores, for example Amazon, or to the store of an affiliate network such as Awin. Some links first pass through the tracking address of the network. When you click, the network and the store receive your request (including your IP address and technical data) and may set cookies or use tracking identifiers to attribute a purchase to us.
From the moment you click, the network and the store are responsible for the processing under their own privacy notices. Please read the notice of the store and network you use. We have no influence on what they store.
We receive reports about clicks, purchases and commissions from the affiliate programs. These reports do not tell us who you are. More in the Affiliate Disclosure.
06Contact
If you contact us by email, we process your contact details and message to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
07AI assisted content
AI tools may help us draft or edit product texts. Published texts are reviewed by a human before they go live. There is no chatbot on this website and no input of yours is sent to an AI service.
08Your GDPR rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability where legally applicable. You may withdraw consent at any time with future effect.
09Complaints
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Bavaria, this is generally the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
10Updates
We update this Privacy Policy when website features, tools, providers or legal requirements change. Last updated: 3 October 2026.
