Explore at your pace

Why this place exists

Built for heavy bodies.
Open to everybody.

If you've ever felt out of place in a wellness space, counted yourself out before you even began, or simply wanted somewhere that talks to you like a person, this is that place.

I know what stairs, summer heat and narrow chairs can cost. I know what it feels like when every new plan starts by telling you what you're doing wrong. That's exactly what I don't want this place to be.

Here, nobody weighs you, measures you or grades you. Work on your health at your own pace, ask questions, share recipes, talk about cats, movies or whatever matters today.

And if your body isn't heavy? Come in anyway. Good food and good company have never checked anyone's size.

Small steps count.
Slow counts.
Showing up counts.

A wide, sturdy armchair by a window, with a sleeping cat, a steaming cup of tea and the Bavarian Alps at dusk
There's a seat for you here.

The Harry part

A real person, not a program.

I'm Harry Siegmund. I live in Bavaria with my wife and four cats, one of whom needs a little extra help getting through her day. I cook, I write books, and I watch far too many movies.

And I carry a heavy body. I started out at over 300 kilograms, around 670 pounds. I'm near 200 kilos now, working my way down slowly, without hating myself along the way. So when I say I know how it feels when a chair is a gamble, that's not marketing. That's Tuesday.

I built this community because I couldn't find one that talked to people like me without a raised finger. No before-and-after pressure. No miracle promises. Honest food, small steps, and company for the road.

No topic taxes, no registration walls. Come in at your own pace. No schedule required.

I'm not a doctor and I won't play one on the internet. For medical decisions, please talk to people who went to school for that. What I offer is experience.

Something I also built

Not about health. Still built by me.

This one has nothing to do with weight, food or community. It's a Windows tool I built because I got tired of fighting with document converters. If that's not useful to you, no hard feelings, the rest of the site still is.

Markdown Drop turns PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more into clean Markdown, right on your own PC. Drag a file in, get Markdown out. Nothing uploaded, nothing sent anywhere.

Fair questions

Things you might be wondering.

? Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a diet program?

No. There are no meal plans to follow, no points to count and nobody checking your progress. You'll find recipes, honest information and people to talk to. What you do with all that is entirely up to you.

Are you going to tell me what to eat or how to live?

No. You decide what goes on your plate and what pace you move at. There are recipes here, not rules. Suggestions, not schedules. What you do with any of it is entirely your call.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The forum, the recipes, the infoboard and the blog are free. The shop sells my books and guides, and some pages contain clearly marked affiliate links. That's how the lights stay on, and none of it is required to be part of this place.

Do I have to talk about my weight?

Never. Plenty of people will be here for the recipes, the cats or the movie reviews. You decide what you share and when. Reading along quietly is a completely valid way to be part of a community.

Who is behind this?

One person: Harry Siegmund from Bavaria, Germany, together with his wife and four supervising cats. This is a personal project built by hand, not a company with a call center.

Is this only for people with obesity?

No. Built with heavy bodies in mind, open to everyone. If you carry extra weight, you will find people here who understand exactly what that means in daily life. And if you don't, you are still welcome. Good food and good company have never checked anyone's size.

Why are there cats and movie reviews on a health site?

Because a life is bigger than a body. Motivation rarely comes from another lecture about calories. It comes from feeling at home somewhere. Cats and movies happen to be excellent at that.

You also sell a Windows app?

That's Markdown Drop, and no, it has nothing to do with health or community. I built it because I needed a document converter that works without uploading files anywhere. It turns PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint into clean Markdown, right on your own PC. The output is what AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT read most efficiently: a raw document at 240,000 tokens shrinks to around 38,000 as Markdown, which cuts API costs noticeably if you feed documents into AI regularly. One-time purchase, no subscription. The Markdown Drop page has the full picture.

You don't have to have it all figured out.

Walk in, look around, stay as long as you like. The forum is where this community lives, and the door is open.
